MORE RR RELEASES ON STREAMING!One of my goals this year has been to get (almost) everything from related records on streaming platforms (besides bandcamp) the reason I have been so stubborn about this in the past is because streaming platforms (like Spotify, Apple, Youtube, TIDAL...etc) do not pay out artists very well (or at all in some cases) and the whole "streaming" process has kind of killed the album format and changed the way people discover new music in a way that I don't particularly like. BUT what has changed my attitude about this recently is realizing streaming IS the main way people find new music and even if a small percentage of those people go out and support the new artists in other ways (like seeing them live, following them on social media, buying their physical releases...etc) that is worth it to me. So here is some of the new stuff that has made its way onto streaming platforms from Related Records recently. NEW ITEMS ADDED TO THE GARAGE SALE! Katie Lebel + Abelrado Gil + their dog Roy Furbasin at the last "weird yard sale" I did earlier this year. I have been putting off listing these recent items for so long! Because it is so time consuming and kinda dumb! BUT here are a bunch of DVD's and VHS tapes I have added recently to the garage sale section of the website. I also put everything left over from previous garage sale "drops" at 50% off so most stuff is between $0.50 - $3. Just go check it out for yourself.
 On July 22nd, I got a call from my friend Max, he told me "Jeremy was taken by ambulance to the hospital for what they think was a heart attack on Tuesday Morning. He went into a comatose state and was without oxygen for 15 to 20 minutes. They induced hypothermia to stop any brain damage from happening." and then proceeded to get updates on him every other day, some good and some bad, but it looks like he is recovering well now and his brothers+girlfriend Kate started a GoFundMe to help with medical bills and recovery. If you are unfamiliar with Jeremy (known to some as Jerry) He is a wonderful, soft spoken and brilliant artist known for his music under the name Yairms and his films, most recently a western that he filmed in the AZ desert tiled "La Bufa Dora" which was scheduled to premiere in New York this month but that has been delayed for obvious reasons. Anyway, If you are able to donate, share and/or spread the word on this GoFundMe that would be so helpful and would mean so much to me and everyone who cares about him. All sales from YAIRMS "Hope's Stable" cassette tape will go towards the GoFundMe until the goal is met as well.  Tapes have been a pretty big hit recently so I’m doing a sale on all tapes just for fun! 40% off all tapes with the code “tapesnotdead” for this week only! NEW RELEASE! Barry is a 4 piece queer-pop group from London. I was introduced to them from friends/label-mates The Pooches and The Slugs! and I instantly feel in love! the music they produce reminds me of that glorious pop sound that was so popular in the early 2000's but yet so incredibly unapologetic for their weirdness and queerness in the most refreshing and pleasant way! The official release date is in December but we are hoping the records will be here sometime between October-November, but with the way vinyl is these days WHO REALLY KNOWS! it sucks! (I was originally quoted as them being done by August, then October so...)  Pretty much since the beginning of the Related Records label, Dimitri and Ryan from world famous band Golden Boots have been big supporters of the label, and for the past 2 years they have had their own radio show in Tucson+the internet called "Burning Brain Radio" and on that show they have continuously played Related Records artists. They have asked me to come up with a solid 20 minutes or so of music for this upcoming episode on Saturday August 14th and I just wanted to mention here that I am real excited about it because it is entirely made up new and soon to be released music from Related Records. So if you want a sneak peek at what is coming next for Related Records, be sure to tune in. I'll post about it on instagram for sure when it happens.
BANDCAMP DAY IS HERE AGAIN!100% of the sales from downloads on the Related Records Bandcamp page this weekend will be going towards Mutual Aid PHX. If you would just like to donate, I am doing a costco run for supplies on Saturday or Sunday, so you can send donations here this weekend and know that's where the money is going, I will show my reciepts on the Related Records Instagram stories. There is also still "Heat Is Murder" shirts available in sizes Small-3XL and all the money from these shirts goes towards this cause as well. Last month, I did a run & raised close to $500.
and don't forget... Today is Bandcamp Day!On March 20, 2020, Bandcamp waived their revenue share in order to help artists and labels impacted by the pandemic. The Bandcamp community showed up in a massive way, spending $4.3 million on music and merch—15x the amount of a normal Friday— helping artists cover rents, mortgages, groceries, medications, and so much more. It was truly inspiring. But the pandemic and its impact on the music community aren’t over, so today, as well as on June 5, and July 3 (the first Friday of each month), Bandcamp is waiving their revenue share for all sales on the platform, from midnight to midnight PDT on each day.
