Eichlers is arguably one of the most creative artists of the “New Tone” community, The project is more-or-less ska’s answer to the “SoundCloud Rap” or “Emo Trap” sound that gained popularity a few years back. Eichlers new record, "My Checkered Future", is 10 tracks of ska guitar, 808s, and danceable jams that are just as likely to make you reflect as they are to make you laugh. The music is both vulnerable and intentionally ridden with ironic ska and punk references. To paraphrase Mike Sosinski from Bad Time Records 'it will blow a lot of people’s minds...and it will make a lot of people mad. Some ska traditionalists are likely to be naysayers'...but who cares. Back in December I requested the first two weeks of May off from my day job so Hi My Name Is Ryan could go on a little West Coast tour. Obviously that’s not happening now, so I am experimenting with a digital live-stream European tour with my friends from all over the world*
Each show will start at 8pm CET (Central European Time) that is about 11AM On the west coast of the US and a few hours later if you’re in a different part of the US. This is also maybe an hour later if you are somewhere else in Europe. Time Zones are confusing so I’ll leave it up to you to figure it out for yourself. *=USA and Europe |

Friday, March 20, 2020 at 8:00PM – 11:00PM Cardiff Giant Tattoo 119 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85003 Post-genre power trio mssv was formed early in 2019 when guitarist Mike Baggetta joined up with bassist mike watt (Minutemen fIREHOSE, The Stooges) and drummer Stephen Hodges (Mavis Staples, Tom Waits, David Lynch) to tour on his Wall of Flowers album (BIG EGO Records, featuring Watt and drumming legend Jim Keltner). After a hugely successful US tour performing music that ran the gamut from original electro-free-jazz improvisations, driving new-rock anthems and covers of The Stooges and more from Watt’s first punk rock opera “Contemplating the Engine Room”, mssv has proved a fearless band. Featuring live electronic processing by both Baggetta and Hodges, as well as Watt’s relentlessly driving bass and vocals, mssv has been able to not only show what it means to be a band in the modern post-genre landscape, but is well on their way to defining it. mssv released their new album Live Flowers December 1st on Striped Light Records (Knoxville, TN) featuring music by Baggetta, Watt, David Lynch and The Stooges and features a special guest appearance from guitarist J Mascis ( of Dinosaur Jr.) ___ “The chemistry is palpable, the vibe is loose, and the songs are all worlds unto themselves.” -Aquarium Drunkard “…vintage twang in service of Americana-meets exploratory Jazz-psych…” -Rolling Stone Magazine “Mike Baggetta is a genre-blurring guitar hero…at the forefront of an army of guitar innovators”-Brad Cohan, Jazztimes “A true supergroup power trio, ala a modern day Cream” -Guitar Moderne “Mike Baggetta makes stealthy, mysterious music … he’s trying to do something personal with collective improvisation without ever getting in the way of beauty.” -Ben Ratliff, The New York Times “…a kind of post-Frisellian sonic explorer … with his wild whammy-bar articulations, ambient looping and rippling arpeggios … full of subversive surprises, hellacious skronking, string-scraping and a general hornets’ nest of fuzz-toned dissonance” -Bill Milkowski, DownBeat Magazine / Slate Magazine LOCAL SUPPORT BY: El Googly Diablo ypto Pre-sale tickets are $15 / $20 at the door |

Golden Saguaro 609 E. 6th St. Tucson, Arizona 85705 Related Records presents a 7” split by two queer Arizona legends Jaime J. Soto and The Doyénne IN THEIR OWN WORDS: JAIME J. SOTO – “In 2004, I inherited a Technics KN1200 keyboard with production capabilities and a floppy disc drive. Laptops were dominating the electronic scene, but I didn’t have the money for one. Gwen Stefani released her debut single “What You Waiting For?” and I took her message to heart, producing around twenty original songs. I started to perform all over Arizona as a solo artist. I was finally creating, yet my performance anxiety started to manifest as “nervous pukes” at shows. It was challenging, but I kept on. In 2011, I maxed out a credit card to get my first Macbook. I collaborated with local engineers to produce my first pop backtracks. I invested in cheap costuming (Thanks Fascinations!) and developed some choreography. My craft felt more complete. The nervousness was still present, but I learned to cope with it somehow. In 2014, I resigned all I had done previously and decided to make an experimental album called “FGGTFAILUR.” The concept for the album was letting go of societal pressures to be a “normal.” I produced tunes that mirrored the confusion, anxiety, and frustration I had felt throughout my life. I expressed myself as honestly as possible. I talked openly in my lyrics about sexuality for the first time. My anxiety began to fade away soon after. It was truly a liberating experience. In 2018 I have returned to producing pop music with heavy Queer themes. I perform my music frequently in addition to occasional burlesque shows. I also co-host a radio show on 91.3 FM KXCI Tucson” THE DOYENNE – “In 2006, an old friend gave me the means to upload a copy of FL Studio to my computer. While I had sang in church and school choirs, what I didn’t have was a musical education, or a deep seeded desire towards producing my own music. I spent years tinkering with the program and eventually started to upload tracks to Myspace. In 2011 I had my first public performance at The Trunk Space, an inclusive art space where I still happily perform at from time to time. “Body of Work” was a critical success that kept me motivated to work on the follow-ups “Queen” and “DARKWORLD” as well as other compilations, Eps and singles. DIY is my philosophy. That’s the energy I want to instill in at least one person who thinks they can’t do it on their own. They absolutely can. I didn’t have very many openly gay / queer roles models growing up first in Flint, Michigan and then Phoenix for the rest of my formative years at fifteen years old. I want to fill that gap for anyone who needs encouragement to pick up that instrument or that Digital Audio Workstation and not wait on others to make the music they’d like to make.” From wigs and costumes to politically and sexually charged lyrics, [The Doyénne] has made a name for himself by unapologetically bringing his perspective as an openly gay hip-hop/electronic music artist, songwriter and producer to audiences of all varieties. – Echo Magazine The Doyénne are a queer electro-rap artist whose confident, warped songs would be club anthems if we lived in a universe that wasn’t so relentlessly basic. They perform with an intensity that puts many of the punk and noise bands he shares bills with to shame — like a hybrid of Little Richard and Iggy Pop that has an encyclopedic knowledge of house music. -- Phoenix New Times Music Jaime J. Soto is unafraid to push buttons. He fearlessly challenges societal stereotypes by taking an unabashedly honest look at toxic masculinity from the vantage of growing up gay in a machista culture, one rife with an exaggerated sense of manliness, -- Tucson Weekly Jaime. J. Soto sang about unobtainable perfection, good skin, and at one point, faked an orgasm. At first, it read more like a performance-art piece, but it slowly became more dance-able. At one point, he stripped down from his bright red jacket to his underwear, then began gyrating over the face of Abe Gil from Treasure Mammal. Next, he ordered everyone into a giant circle for the “world’s largest group hug” and began doing flips in the center. .— Phoenix New Times ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pre-order and streaming available at https://relatedrecords.bandcamp.com/album/split-3 |

Bootleg Theater 2220 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA Mooey Moobau half album release show featuring his friends: -Bodies of Water -Frank Fairfield -Hi My Name Is Ryan at Bootleg Theater More info on all the artists can be read below ------------------------------------------------------------- Related Records presents: the first release by Mooey Moobau in a decade, a half-album called "powder, and all that store-bought hair" Since 2007 Mooey Moobau has been the nom de guerre for writer, theater director, and speech scientist Joseph Tepperman. Often confused with some kind of art collective because of the ever-rotating list of guest artists, Mooey Moobau has made a point of channeling Dada sound poets like Kurt-Schwitters-Schule and tongue-aware rappers like Twista into frenetic, intricate songs based on the natural rhythms and melodies of everyday speech. Recorded 2010 and 2018 in Los Angeles, powder, and all that store-bought hair psychotically switches between two completely different but complementary Moobau sounds. Full-band tracks like "Two One-Legged Men" and "The Same Same" reach for the understated visceral energy of The Fall and The Raincoats circa 1979. The most recently-recorded pieces ("Writer With No Pen", "Heart is a Clock") showcase a unique one-man approach, using cassettes and megaphones to layer Tepperman's voice in realtime, and reminiscent of the 1960s tape experiments of Captain Beefheart. Joseph Tepperman lives in Los Angeles and works as a researcher in automatic speech recognition technology. His opera libretto Tongues Bloody Tongues debuted at REDCAT in 2010, as performed by guerrilla orchestra Killsonic. In 2012 he wrote and directed a play about disgraced astronaut Lisa Nowak, Starcrosser's Cut, receiving rave reviews in the Hollywood Reporter and the LA Weekly. He records and makes videos with his wife, Ariana Kaufman, under the name Mystery Bau. "Tepperman works in a dreamscape and the slippery world of memory" -- USA TODAY "Joseph Tepperman’s complicated sound design constitutes every bit as significant a part of the text as his words . . . To open ears, the advanced tonalities harmonize euphoniously, if with a free-ranging dread" -- The Hollywood Reporter "In performance, Tepperman foregrounds that constant flux of linguistic revision and evasion . . . a kind of hallucinatory Socratic dialogue" -- LA Weekly www.josephtepperman.com ------------------------------------------------- Bodies of Water a musical group that live in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. They have released 4 albums over the years on the following labels Thousand Tongues, Secretly Canadian, Pop Frenzy and Aficionado www.bodiesofwater.net / https://thebodiesofwater.bandcamp.com ------------------------------------------------- "Frank Fairfield is worthy of your consideration, even if you’ve never heard or considered the old-time music. He plays with a rare integrity, offering up his life in a way that does exactly what folk music must do– it relates the world as the singer sees it, mixing sadness with sweetness, excitement with low-down and miserable depression. This has nothing to do with genre; hip-hop, jazz and rock all feel this way, too. Like the best of it all, Fairfield’s music seems inexorably real and entirely necessary." - Pitchfork www.frankfairfield.net ------------------------------------------------- "Ryan Avery's an alt-cultural renaissance man and the clown prince of the downtown Phoenix art scene, performing at any of the numerous venues dotting Grand Avenue or Roosevelt Row." --Phoenix New Times "Ryan's shit is so simple and genius that it is probably a source of major aggravation for all the "real" punks in Phoenix...fuck em." -- Quintron and Miss Pussycat "In the most uninhibited and pure way, Ryan Avery is a cannonball. Not at all concerned with the potential for direct structural damage nor the ripple effects of his body’s movement through any given open space - he has the ability to charm and/or embarrass, confuse and/or enlighten, with little-to-no-concern of how that may be perceived by anyone on the sidelines (if he allows them to remain there). Few people allow themselves to be so free, it is truly a gift." --James Fella (Gilgongo Records) www.ryanavery.org / https://himynameisryan.bandcamp.com |

The Trunk Space 1124 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85004 EARLY GIG! 2pm! (all music must end by 5pm) $8 adv, $12 at the door. It’s very exciting to be able to tell you that Jeffrey Lewis will be making a return visit to Phoenix! Lewis is one of The Trunk Space’s all-time favorite songwriters and performers and previous shows have always been such an evening of sheer joy. Its hard to know where to begin when describing New York born and based Jeffrey Lewis’s creative activities. As a musician and songwriter he has been active for such a long time, both solo and with an array of bands, performing and recording with Los Bolts since 2015 (now re-dubbed The Voltage for the forthcoming new album). In addition to this Jeffrey Lewis both writes and illustrates graphic novels, having published his comic book, Fuff, since 2004 and incorporates artwork and storytelling into his live sets to magical effect. In addition to writing, performing and recording under his own name, Jeffrey Lewis also collaborates with Peter Stampfel of 60s legends Holy Modal Rounders and they released their second album, "Hey, Hey its The Jeffrey Lewis and Peter Stampfel Band," in 2013. A third album with Stampfel and a new album with his own band are both in the pipeline. Jeffrey Lewis has attracted a great deal of praise from contemporaries such as Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), David Berman (Silver Jews), Paul Banks (Interpol) and Will Oldham. The latter said of Lewis, "Really great and impressive and inspiring and exciting... There's not a lot of people that can tell a story and use language like that in music." The Jeffrey Lewis 2015 album, Manhattan, is a work of utter genius, an original take on life in the Big Apple by that rare individual, a genuine artist still living in the city despite increasing gentrification and is a lyrical, beautiful and sublime record. "Live, Jeffrey Lewis & The Voltage (Brent and Mem, formerly dubbed Los Bolts - Jeffrey continues his tradition of re-naming the band with each new album) are an absolute blast and with such an impressive back catalog who knows where they might take the audience at any given time. Rest assured though, it will be a genuinely special experience". - Beat Generator LOCAL SUPPORT: -The Exbats |

Cardiff Giant Tattoo 119 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85003 Wizard Apprentice - Wizard Apprentice is an independent singer-songwriter, electronic music producer, and motion graphics artist. As a highly-sensitive introvert, her multimedia projects are attempts to energetically battle an overwhelming world. Her music is a combination of lyrical precision; intentional, minimalistic composition; and technically-amateurish charm. she creates digitally-based media that takes advantage of accessible, user-friendly technology; allowing her to skip time-consuming learning curves and get straight to focusing on inventing personalized yet highly-relatable language for deeply subtle and internal experiences. She is not a gear-head, rather, a digital folk artist who vividly and simplistically expresses her inner world using resourcefulness and honesty. Her video work incorporates green screen graphics, digital puppetry, and minimalistic compositing to produce imagery that’s cerebral, psychedelic, campy, and hypnotic. She combines song and video to create multimedia live performances that explore intimate emotional themes ranging from the challenges/triumphs of being an empath to overstimulation in the Internet Age. - https://wizardapprentice.bandcamp.com with local support from -Dem Cauldronz - https://demcauldronz.bandcamp.com -Jaime J. The Trunk Space 1124 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85004 Calvin Johnson established K Records in 1982 and founded Dub Narcotic Studio in 1993. He has performed with groups such as Beat Happening, The Go Team, Halo Benders, Dub Narcotic Sounds System, and The Hive Dwellers. He tours as a solo artist, and also performs as Selector Dub Narcotic. He is touring in support of his new album “A Wonderful Beast.” Calvin entered the Audio Eagle Studio in Nashville, TN. using the premise “Rock’n’roll Will Never Die” as a starting point. Working closely with Producer Patrick Carney and Chief Engineer Marc Whitmore, the team tested the resiliency of such time honored materials as the electric guitar, modular synthesizer and trap drum kit, combining them in various ratios with musical elements like chords A, C and D minor. The results are the Frankenstein’s monster of an album, “A Wonderful Beast.” Golden BooTs are Tucson, Arizona’s tropical cowboys, continue to create their unique and diverse music distilled from the dusty depths and strip malls of the American southwest. Part rock, part country, part absurdity, and all weird, the toe-tapping ramshackle hydra that is Golden BooTs transforms again into their latest incarnation, the “Tropical Trio”. Founding members Dimitri Manos and Ryen Eggleston have teamed up with long-time collaborator and potential group hallucination, tidypaws, to form one the most unique arrangements of the group in their wildly varying 15 year history. Armed only with an electric guitar, omnichord, saxophone and their wits, the Boots have released a new album "H.A.L.T." and hit the road to bring the weirdness to the world. Josué Kinter is a local singer-songwriter who's dark and dreamy sound is equal parts Bauhaus, Neil Young, and Townes Van Zandt. Josué went solo recently and established his backing band, the Dreamy Draw Boys after moving on from previous projects: deathrock band Hex Wave and surf-punk band Rum Drinker. This is going to be their first formal show playing a full 20 minute set of all new material. |

FilmBar Phoenix 815 N 2nd St, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 More than 200 artists have banded together under the banner of 3GI Industries, which hosts an annual Shrek-themed festival, to recreate every single scene from the 2001 classic in their own original styles. The hallucinatory combination of different animation techniques and live-action sequences, all of wildly different levels of effort and quality, comes off like a nostalgic fever dream—or maybe like if you turned a game of "exquisite corpse" into a movie. There's a Newgrounds-esque Flash animation of the fairy tale creatures squatting in Shrek's swamp. There are many, many dudes reenacting Shrek's lines while slathered in green paint and sporting fake antennae. At one point, Shrek and Donkey storm the dragon's castle as anime characters. It's all vaguely disturbing, if not severely so; and yet, at the same time, it's kind of amazing. Somehow, these people actually pulled off a half-animated, half-live action, homemade Shrek remake—and if nothing else, the feat alone is impressive as hell. The whole thing is the brainchild of Grant Duffrin, an artist who founded Shrek Fest four years ago, and has spent the years since crowd sourcing talent for Shrek Retold. He told Quartz that there's not a speck of irony in his passion for Shrek, which he compared, for some reason, to ice cream. "Could you enjoy ice cream ironically?" he said. "Could you eat ice cream as a joke?" Duffrin also claimed that Shrek Retold has nothing to do with the uncanny memes spawned from the "Shrek is life, Shrek is love" version of the ogre. Cardiff Giant Tattoo 119 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix, Arizona 85003 The Emotron (From Georgia) - The Emotron is a Southern bred solo performance art project propelled by raw creative emotional energy & original synthy song composures on a vintage midi Yamaha QY700 Sequencer. Tron can be seen live often in the US, lighting his junk on fire & performing magic in his Daddy's 1974 wedding suit & shit. https://theemotron.bandcamp.com Non Grata (From Europe) - Since its beginning, Non Grata has become notorious for using what I would consider violent imagery of fire and large, fabricated brains, and for its disconcerting actions and props such as smoke, abrasive noise music, and bullhorns — all meant to create a sense of confusion. It’s almost like planned chaos. Paldrok usually carries and speaks into a bullhorn during performances, making him nearly incomprehensible in speech; but his intentions are always clear through his body language. And despite the confusing atmosphere, there are no subtle actions in a Non Grata performance: everything is explicit. Even if the images don’t make sense, the feeling of the performance is well defined. There’s always a sense of disquiet in the crowd, but an anticipation built on fear keeps everyone watching. I think this discomfort makes us more aware of our own vulnerabilities, and these performances are meant to see how far we’ll go in such a state. After all, our hesitations, our non-actions, reveal as much about us as our actions do. http://www.nongrata.ee LOCAL SUPPORT FROM: Taurus Daddies (a Treasure MammaL+AlhhlA mashup) Dem Cauldronz - https://soundcloud.com/demcauldronz $10 Suggested Donations (no one turned away) Show will start by 8:00pm and end by 11:00pm |

Emerald House DIY 251 Emerald St., Los Angeles, California 90026 Join us for a fun-filled evening with comedy, music, and Emerald House DIY's first ever "raunchy" spelling bee! Hi My Name Is Ryan (Ryan Avery / Related Records) In the most uninhibited and pure way, Ryan Avery is a cannonball. Few people allow themselves to be so free, it is truly a gift. Morgan Evans (MTV / The Onion) Morgan is a writer/director at MTV and a contributing writer to Weekend Update, The Onion, Funny or Die, Billy on the Street, and tons of other stuff. Human Behavior Human Behavior is a folk band with peeps in CA, NM, and, AZ. This is part that and part whatever. Mooey Moobau My stuff is heavy on phonetics - I write songs ruled by natural speech rhythms and melodies, and overflowing with alliterative poetry. It's influenced a lot by the Dada sound poets, and by much of the hip hop I hear on the radio right now. Bring $5 donation for the artists! Refreshments provided! Respect the space! |

The Trunk Space 1124 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85004 BY POPULAR DEMAND Related Records and The Trunk Space Present ANDY KAUFMAN "Andy and His Grandmother" Listening Party Doors will open at 10:00pm. Entry is $2. Side A of the record will start around 10:15pm, followed by a 10 minute intermission, then side B of the record will start. Milk and Cookie refreshments will be provided afterwards. Tickets will be sold at the door. -------------- MORE INFORMATION ON THE ALBUM -------------- Andy and His Grandmother is the posthumous debut album from American comedian Andy Kaufman, released on Drag City Records on July 16, 2013. Composed of recordings that Kaufman made on microcassette from 1977 to 1979, the album was created by several of Kaufman's friends as well as contemporary comedians. Kaufman recorded over 80 hours of material with the intention of recording an album similar to Steve Allen and Jerry Lewis' prank call comedy records—his tapes include explicit instructions on how the album should sound. Kaufman's girlfriend Lynne Margulies kept the tapes for decades but never found the opportunity to release them until she published a 2009 book of letters sent to Kaufman and her publisher put her in touch with Drag City. The album was compiled by editor Rodney Ascher and comedian Vernon Chatman with narration between tracks by comedian Bill Hader and liner notes by Kaufman confidante Bob Zmuda The album includes Kaufman's potential plans for faking his own death—a long-rumored prank that he has allegedly pulled on the public for over 30 years. Chatman is contractually barred from commenting on whether or not Kaufman in fact faked his death. "...undoubtedly one of the strangest albums in recent memory."-The Boston Globe "...he still resonates and fascinates in our world of meta-this and post-that, why anyone would care about a collection of cobbled together personal recordings from an enigma who's been dead for nearly three decades." -Pitchfork "Once again, we suspect were the ones being goofed on, but we never quite know for sure."-Consequence of Sound |

The Trunk Space 1124 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85004 Red Pony Clock - https://redponyclock.bandcamp.com "From the sun-kissed shores of San Diego, CA comes Red Pony Clock, an ever-shifting musical collective with a penchant for jubilant horn arrangements, effervescent vocal harmonies, and confessional song-writing. Primarily a recording project based on the songs of Gabe Saucedo , the live Red Pony Clock lineup can oftentimes swell into the the double digits, with members switching back and forth between a wide variety of non-traditional instruments, such as trombone, banjo, accordion, & vibraphone. RPC will pretty much try to work with whatever they can get their hands on. The same goes for their song-writing, which has been known to take from such diverse influences as mariachi, disco, country, jazz, & R&B. At first listen, the density of Red Pony Clock's music can be overwhelming, even confounding. But take heart!! While most twelve-headed monsters are intent on luring you under your bed only to inflict unspeakable acts of torture, Red Pony Clock would rather help you build a pillow fort in which to chill out and have a sing-along. Or better yet, a jamboree!!!" Mike Montoya (of Fatigo) - http://www.fatigomusic.com "Many have attempted to describe Phoenix, Arizona’s Fatigo. Of the band: oddball, clever, strange, oddball auteur, absurdist, irrepressible, and, finally, supremely oddball. Of the music: lo-fi, Latin, lounge, pop, folky, jazzy, cumbia, tejano, norteño, mariachi, bossa nova, and not-quite-rock/not-quite-ordinary………… to name a few. “ My dad would always have music going in the house”,Montoya (singer) explains…whether we were pulling weeds or having a first communion party..it was always a mixture of Beatles, Mariachi Vargas, Trio Los Panchos , and Motown. …of course I was always trying to sneak my Depeche Mode cassettes in there….yeah so I’d have to say my dad is my biggest influence.” From subterranean dive bars in the Downtown Phoenix Arts district, to larger venues throughout the Valley of the Sun and beyond, Fatigo brings a multicultural concoction to the table . Smell it, drink it, love it, pass it on." Hi My Name Is Ryan - http://ryanavery.org "Ryan Avery is a lot of things, is in a lot of things, is a part of a lot of things and loves a lot of things. In the most uninhibited and pure way, Ryan Avery is a cannonball. Few people allow themselves to be so free, it is truly a gift." Saint Dad Saint Dad has been the secret solo project of local renaissance man Josué Kinter Rodríguez. This project is hilarious, sincere, brilliant and classic all at the same time. He played his first live show under this moniker on Fathers Day last month and it blew everyone away.. You can see most of this performance at the beginning of this video - https://youtu.be/2qbWPNn-Axc Lil Trip - https://liltrip69.bandcamp.com New desert dwelling surfy pop cool kids. If you have been to a solid pop show in Phoenix in the last year you've probably seen them or at least heard about this band. Related Records distro will be there too. So bring some extra $$$ if you want some old local band t-shirts or cheap vinyl, cd's or cassette tapes. |

The Trunk Space 1124 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85004 Quintron and Miss Pussycat "Quintron and Miss Pussycat have been making genre-defying noise and hard rocking dance music in New Orleans for over fifteen years. The majority of their 14 full-length albums have the psychedelic soul of traditional New Orleans party music filtered through a tough distorted Hammond B-3 and a cache of self-made electronic instruments. MISS PUSSYCAT plays maracas and sings, as well as entertaining all age groups with her highly amusing technicolor puppet shows. Hers are complex puppet shows beautifully crafted for success in intimate venues of late night drinking and dancing: tactile, idiosyncratic characters, pithy dialogue, electronically pixilated soundtracks, and trippy black light effects create a visual and engaging overture/finale to Quintron and Miss Pussycat's music sets. Quintron aids in puppet manipulation and voicing. Miss Pussycat, in turn, sings lead and back-up and plays maracas during Quintron's performances. QUINTRON has released strange soundscapes based on inner-city field recordings of frogs and neighborhood ambiance as well as holing himself up in The New Orleans Museum of Art for three months to create the epic "Sucre Du Sauvage" (Goner Records, 2011). In addition to his own recordings, Quintron has played organ on a number of other records, most notably The Oblivions "9 Songs" and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys "Grand Isle" which was nominated for a Grammy in 2012 and featured the Quintron penned song "Chatterbox". In the spring of 2014 Quintron and Miss Pusscyat were the chosen to be resident artists at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. Quintron completed his weather controlled analog drone synthesizer called WEATHER WARLOCK and Miss Pussycat invented an inflatable puppet theater which fits into her purse! Quintron regards his most significant creation to be a patented instrument called The Drum Buddy, a light activated analog synthesizer which creates murky, low-fidelity, rhythmic patterns. Notable DRUM BUDDY clients include performers Nels Cline of Wilco, Laurie Anderson, Fred Armisen, and DJ Mr. Dibbs. The Quintron / Miss Pussycat experience is one of barely controlled electronic chaos, "Swamp-Tech" dance beats, small explosions, incredible clothes, and entertaining puppet stories." http://quintronandmisspussycat.com Fathers Day "They play music about dad stuff. They are Q+P's favorite band in Phoenix, AZ They have been around since 2004 They have released about a dozen albums and EPs. They are based out of Fountain Hills, AZ They are a staple in the Arizona Art Punk scene Their live show is a mix of comedy+aggression, can get pretty wild and ALWAYS gets an honcore. Their live show usually lasts between 15-20 minutes. Don't be an idiot. Make sure you see their set." http://www.fathersdayband.com/ Monday, June 26, 2017 Doors: 7:00 pm / Show: 7:30 pm The Trunk Space Phoenix, AZ $12.00 - $14.00 *This event is all ages Get tickets here online http://ticketf.ly/2qYoR8N |
