I wanna make it clear that Related Records does not endorse or support Spotify. They are an awful company that makes billions of dollars on the backs of hardworking musicians, producers, fans, labels... basically anyone who contributes or works within the music industry - Spotify is making money off you whether you want them to or not. BUT I also recognize that they are affordable and easy to use, which is why so many music fans use it and why I have created these playlists for you to enjoy. If you are a Spotify user, no shame or hard feelings meant for you. But fuck Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon forever.

SONGS I LOVE TO EAT

A fun little playlist of songs about food, created for an event I hosted back in July, 2024. Whenever I come across a new great song about food, I just add it to this one. I am always open to suggestions too.

RUDE GIRLS

Playlist is organized in order of the chapters in the book RUDE GIRLS by Heather Augustyn. Plus a bunch of extras from artists that are connected to the artists in the book. Mostly 2-tone, ska, post punk and power pop between 1979-1990.
BAGELFELDS EMPLOYEE JUKEBOX

This playlist was made by Emily and I got our "DESERT STYLE" art show in October, 2023. 90% of it you could dance to, We both still add to this playlist occasionally and this has become my go-to playlist because it's 24 hours long and I like every song. Listen on Shuffle

This mixtape was made with help from Amber of Fatty Cakes & The Puff Pastries. All the artists on the mix fall under one or more of the letters in LGBTQIA...etc. All the music is tough as fuck! Cissies probably couldn't handle it.
YOU DON'T NEED A BAND TO BE IN A BAND

This is a mixtape I made to help inspire weirdo's to just make music by themselves, with whatever objects or resources they have. Spotify doesn't have a lot of the tracks that were originally on this mix, so this playlist is actually very different from the original tape.​ But still very fun and inspiring.
ANOTHER (MOSTLY) UNDERGROUND SKA MIXTAPE

Something that has always bugged me about the ska music scene is that when people talk about it, it makes it seem so small. With a focus on just a few bands that “made it” every decade. When there has always been a fun/wild underground scene. 
SKA MIX FOR Q

I made this mixtape for my friend Quintron after a conversation with him about ska music. He said he didn't know much beyond Jackie Mitto, Madness and The English Beat. So here is a mix of (mostly underground + very organ heavy) ska mix that I hope you enjoy.
TOBY MIX CD

This is a mix CD I made to raise money to help pay for my dog Toby's vet bills after we had to put him down on Christmas day 2020. These are all songs that remind me of my lil golden boy and I miss him very much.
A VERY TERRI MIX CD

This is (most of) the mix CD that came with the zine Very Terri Volume 1. The Terris, are an all-queer ska band from AZ. Featuring Celleste Murtagh, Emily Spetrino, Ryan Avery, Jaime J. Soto and Scout. This mix CD is a combination of all the members influences for The Terris. Original released 2020.
MY EARLIEST MEMORY: A QUEER "HOLIDAY" MIXTAPE

In December 2020, I sent out these mixtapes to friends. On the backside of the J-Card I included a story about my earliest memory, which was seeing snow for the first time. This photo is of me around that same time (Winter 1989). Playlist consists of all queer artists I love. Fuck holiday music! ​Listen on Shuffle
GOOFY JERKY

A short-spastic mix tape of short-spastic punk and new wave. I made this mix-tape to trade with friends in early 2020.
THIS IS IMPORTANT

I made copies of this mixtape for people who donated more than $20 to local mutual aid groups in 2020. It is a mix of black artists I was listening a lot to at the time.

HI MY NAME IS RYAN DIGITAL EUROPEAN TOUR MIX CD

In May, 2020 I had plans to go on a little solo tour. By March, 2020 I realized I had to cancel it because of COVID-19. I have always wanted to go on tour in Europe, so I booked a digital week long tour and set up a different lineup of acts every day + we played every evening (according to CES Time)
THE LLL TOUR PRESENTS: DJ RYANS FAVORITE SONGS

Mix CD of music I played from my phone via the bandcamp app while on tour with Yairms + Hi My Name Is Ryan + The Emotron + ALHHLA. One of my favorite things about being on tour is listening to music with friends and the long, insightful discussions about it on the drives between cities.
THE REAL CREAM OF THE CROP: ESSENTIAL DEAD MILKMEN FOR DAIRY LOVERS

In 2018 a friend of mine said he had never listened to the Dead Milkmen, so I made him this mix CD. I think its a great intro to the band & their expansive career. Playlist includes songs from post 2018 releases too. But its missing “the puking song” from the smoking banana peels single. Spotify sux
RELATED RECORDS 2015-2016 MIX CDS

Between September 2015-September 2016 I released a mix CD each month that I would include with orders featuring music from Related Records artists and stuff I was selling on discogs. It was bizarre and most people stopped listening to CD's by then. But it is cool to look back & reflect on this time. ​Listen on Shuffle
