Q - “What is something you wish you could tell yourself at 16?”
A - “Just to enjoy life and not take things too seriously”
Q - “What was the most painfully awkward year of your life and why?”
A - “I was a very typically awkward teenager so probably late 1990s”
Q - “If you could go back in time to a time, what year would you want to return to? What age would you want to be at that period of time? AND What would you want to do?”
A - “I really like American Frontier/cowboy stuff so I would probably go back to around 1860 and ride around on my horse Annie Oakley-style”
Q - “What has been your favorite haircut that you have had? and what has been the most obnoxious haircut.”
A -“None, my hair is very boring. Probably my most adventurous was a bowl haircut in my 20s.”
Q - “What is the best live show you have seen and what made it so special?”
A - “KATE BUSH in 2014, and what made it special was that it was KATE BUSH”
Q - “What is the stupidest thing you have watched on television?”
A - “It has to be Naked Attraction”
Q - “What is your favorite place to go on holiday?”
A - “I like cities, I don’t have a favorite though. I just like exploring and hunting for the one lesbian bar (or pop up bar) in town”
Q - “What is the lineup for your most perfect 5 artist dream lineup for Barry to play?”
A - “We would play in a mid-size venue with lots of comfortable seating. The line up would be: BARRY / JOAN ARMSTRONG / ALICE COLTRANE / KATE BUSH / ABBA”
Q - “What current artists should fans of Barry be listening to right now.”
A - “TERRY, THE SLUGS, MR. BEN & THE BENS, US HIGHBALL”
Q - “If you could commit a crime and know you will get away with it successfully, what crime would you want to commit and why?”
A - “I take money from billionaires and corporations and do good things with it, Robin Hood style. Mainly for the less well off and to save the planet and stuff but I'd also build giant Snoopy statues around the world.”
Q - “What is something you wish you could tell yourself at 16?”
A - “One day you will bloody love being gay. And life's too short for hang-ups”
Q - “When did you realize you were queer?”
A - “Either watching Scooby Doo or Freaky Friday - when I felt a connection with Jodie Foster's youthful gay energy”
Q - “If you could go back in time to a time, what year would you want to return to? What age would you want to be at that period of time? and what would you want to do?”
A - “San Fransisco / LA late 60s, New York late 70s, London / Manchester / Glasgow early 80s, Olympia early 90s. I'd watch bands. I'd be young enough to go to shows every night and not get knackered, but old enough to drink.”
Q - “What do you think is the best album to listen to on a roadtrip?”
A - “Exile In Guyville by LIZ PHAIR (especially Divorce Song if not going well).”
Q - “What is the best live show you have seen and what made it so special?”
A - “BIKINI KILL with HUGGY BEAR - felt like I'd found my place in the world”
Q - “Do you have a movie or tv show that you watch repeatedly to help cope with trauma?”
A - “Me and Kathy watch 30 Rock every night before we go to sleep. Also Victoria Wood As Seen On TV (particularly Acorn Antiques) and Alan Partridge”
Q - “What is your favorite color combination to wear?”
A - “Blue and orange. I'm mainly a jeans and T-shirts kind of gal, with a nice pair of socks. The more I look like Peppermint Patty the better.
